Betty Fung first participated in the WKCD project from 2014 to 2018 as the Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs for the HKSARG. She later served as acting CEO of the WKCDA, and was appointed to the CEO position in October 2021.
HKU talents at West Kowloon Cultural District
Betty Fung lauded the contributions of HKU alumni to the mega cultural project. “Over the years, HKU has cultivated talents from different fields or disciplines. Many artistic talents and art administrators working for West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) are nurtured by HKU.”
She said she is grateful to the University Museum and Art Gallery of HKU for lending the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) their collections for display in one of its opening exhibitions.
Located on 40 hectares of reclaimed land, the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) features a host of arts and cultural facilities, including the Hong Kong Palace Museum, M+, and the Museum of Visual Culture. ■
